Get set for our community's annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 from 6-8 p.m.! Sponsored by your Savage Community Association, there will be lots of fun packed into 2 hours:
National Night Out Community and Police Awareness: Did you know that National Night Out began in 1984 with neighbors simply turning on their porch lights and sitting in front of their homes? Savage Fire Department, Howard County Police, and our local elected officials will visit our event. Our community organizations will also be there with information on their activities and events. Here is another chance to purchase the new blue SCA t-shirt, a Savage Historical Society Calendar, tickets for some fabulous raffles, and more!
Ice cream treats: Generously donated by Weis and kept frosty cold in a freezer loaned by Putting On The Ritz Caterers.
Cake Walk: We've got a band this year! "Loose Ties" will provide music throughout the evening, including for our old-fashioned cake walk, where you could win a scrumptious cake baked by one of your neighbors. We'll have special cakes for grownups and for kids. Tickets to participate in the cake walk are $1 each, or 6 for $5.
School Supply Drive: This event is free (except for the cake walk tickets), so please bring school supplies which SCA will donate to Bollman Bridge Elementary School for distribution to kids who need a little extra help in paying for supplies. SCA is particularly proud of our community's generosity for this important effort! See list below for ideas on supplies you could donate.
Volunteers needed! Show off your baking skills with a cake for grownups or kids. We'll also need help selling tickets and t-shirts, keeping an eye on cakes and ice cream, and with other tasks. Please sign up at ________.
